A Tribute to Chris Mullally: 1952-2009
It’s with great sadness that after a courageous battle with cancer, we grieve the passing of Pegasus’ revered founder and CEO Chris Mullally on December 25, 2009.
Chris established Pegasus in 1996 from humble beginnings in his home, and was soon joined by friend and business partner, Adrienne Truman. Through true entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional energy, persistence and vision, the company grew rapidly, prompting a move to 90 Bay Street North.
Together with wife Gail as Office Manager/Accountant and their dedicated staff, the company has evolved into the leading direct mail service in the Golden Horseshoe. Much of this success is due to Chris’ insistence that the business operate in the most ethical manner - no matter what the cost. Through this leadership, Pegasus has become a philanthropic organization; donating resources regularly and generously to many charitable organizations in the Hamilton area.
Chris’ personal philosophy was simply - help people. He took real action to support those less fortunate in a community that he felt indebted to. Whether advising a charitable organization with creative ideas, donating funds or helping friends and individuals, he gave freely of his time and extensive life experience.
Chris’ passing has been difficult for the “Pegasus Family” as we struggle to say goodbye to not just a generous and considerate employer but to a friend who always made time for everyone ... no problems were too big or too small and were always tackled with an infectious wit and humour that’s greatly missed.
Above all, Chris openly loved and supported all of his family, and emphatically encouraged others to do the same. He lived life to the fullest and left a lasting impression on all those who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
Chris leaves behind Gail, his wife of 25 years, daughters Kristen and Katelyn, parents and siblings for whom we all wish peace as they restart their lives.
